MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) : This document outlines the properties of the chemical, potential hazards, and handling instructions. It is essential for carriers, port authorities, and customs to assess safety and risk.
DG Form (Dangerous Goods Declaration) : This form provides detailed information about the hazardous nature of the cargo, including classification, packaging, and compliance with transport regulations.
Document verification and approval process: This review can take several days depending on the cargo type and the carrier’s internal policy
Safety clearance and restrictions: Some ports or vessels may restrict certain types of chemicals or require additional inspections, which can extend lead times
Shorter free time for container storage: Carriers often provide limited free time for hazardous cargo, which increases pressure on logistics coordination and delivery schedules
